More about me

I was born in Mexico and grew up in the Great State of Texas. I moved here to Texas when I was 4 with my mom and my sister. My dad and my extended family on his side lived in Mexico for many years but now they mostly all live in the U.S.A.

I love both places. When I got arrested immigration put an “ICE hold” on me which was stupid because I am an “American Citizen Born Abroad”, according to my birth certificate.  I think both countries have a lot of good and a lot of bad. Mexico and it’s culture are awesome, I really appreciate my roots, and miss my family.

I like the country, and I like camping, fishing and swimming, especially down on the Guadalupe. My idea of a good time involves good music, good friends, and a good woman too.  I like to play music on my guitar or my harmonica.  I like being happy and loving life and always feeling that soul, baby. I like listening to, singing and playing all kinds of music and I like the lyrics for country because they always have a story to tell.

I left behind a dog, a truck, my family and a few good friends. I miss them all a lot. Funny, it seems plenty of people don’t know I am here. A lot don’t even care and haven’t bothered to wonder where I went one day to the next. The ones that matter, know.

On the physical side, I guess I am a “white hispanic”. I am 5’11”, medium stocky build, green eyes, shaved head, close trimmed facial hair. I have 7 tattoos.

Want to know more about me or tell me about yourself? You can write me at texasmagnum@intexasprison.com.  My family member will then print out and forward any emails on to me via snail-mail so give me a bit to reply. (Anyone who has done time will tell you, getting mail is a highlight of the day for us.)

I have cable tv so don’t get sky one (since they roemved it) so my friend at work records the episodes for me to watch. Unfortunately Sally i watch them and give her them back so she can keep recording for me otherwise you couldh’ve had them

  2. Your blog is inspiring. I was feeling miserable when I came on to your site, and then I thought, if this guy can keep his chin up in prison, then I can do the same while outside of it. Thanks for writing

  3. It is appropriate time to make some plans for the future and it’s time to be happy. I’ve read this post and if I could I want to suggest you few interesting things or suggestions. Maybe you can write next articles referring to this article. I want to read more things about it!

  4. Wow, the more I read your blog, the more I realize how you are much like my son. He is actually a very serious musician as well! I have just begun a blog. My time is very limited, but if I can help one person then I have accomplished something. My heart aches for him. He is almost 23 and is on his 3rd time inside! I don’t know how to help him. He and I have a good relationship, but I just don’t know what to do. I have put this in God’s hands. I will never give up on him. I am learning to distinguish between helping , and enabling him. That in itself it a tough lesson to learn. You are very blessed to have a family that must love you very much to take the time to monitor your blog for them.

My advice to you; do not become so comfortable and secure on the inside that you fear the outside. You can have a good life on the outside, but it will take patience and perseverance. You will have obstacles to overcome once you are released, because you are a convicted felon. DO NOT LET THOSE OBSTACLES GET THE BEST OF YOU! Stand strong and when you feel weak go to your family, get on your knees before God.

I will keep you in my prayers.

  5. I pray you remain strong in your convictions to change your life. You are absolutely heading in the right direction…sometimes God’s plan may not be ours, but He’s never wrong. You are wise beyond your years about how to handle yourself in there. I will pray for your safety. God will keep his arms around you and protect you…you only have to ask and trust. Hang in there. God has a plan for us all.

    1. Hey Rhonda, I too pray to remain strong. What I’ve found out about God is sometimes all you gotta do is ask. I’m sure God’s plan for me will be just what I need. Thank you Rhonda for your prayers and support.
