Do you need to find someone in Texas prison? If a family member or loved one has been sent to prison, you might be wondering how to find them. Probably you want to write to them and stay in touch while they do their time.
I used to be able to display a form on this page that let folks search for inmates within TDC but the folks at TDCJ have changed the way things work and I cannot make it work now. I hope to have a solution soon. Meanwhile please continue to send your questions to me and I will keep trying to help y’all. Sorry for the hassle.

Hi, my name is Angela. I have 2 sons in prison, Paul. Perry & Holden Perry, as well as my husband Shane Hickson. I wanted to say thank you for all the information & questions you answer. I have a site on FaceBook, Angels For Inmates (can also be found on Angela Angel Hickson fb page) where myself & daughter help inmates find pen pals. A free service. We like to post help for families & welcome any post on either page from families & friends who need help, rides, just want to post a picture or poem, or leave a message for the person they miss. I would like to know if we can post information how to get to this site & to also let caring people know we are always in need of pen pals. You are doing a wonderful job getting information to families & loved ones & even answering questions. We need more people in this world who care instead of only judgemental people putting all inmates into one category of “bad” people. You are loved & cared about. my mom is in jail , she was in TDC ,
she was supposed to get out but another charge came up
i payed for her bond but they wont realease
her cause TDC has her on hold .
what does it mean by “on hold”
I am sorry to hear that. “Oh hold” means that before she could get bonded out they found out that TDC has other charges against her. Was she previously in prison with TDC? Or, was she on probation and did not complete it successfully? If so they could have issued a warrant for her to serve the time from that charge. I wish I could tell you more but I don’t think she is going to be able to bond out until the situation with TDC is cleared up. That could mean any number of things so you will really need to get some more information if you can. Do you go visit or talk to her on the phone? She should know what’s behind it.
if someones release dat was say in july but they came up for parole will they update their release on this website so that i will know exactly his release date is now.
Not necessarily… my release date was updated once I saw parole, to a closer date. But, my ACTUAL release date was about 6 weeks before the date on the inmate locator, and it never was updated properly. In Texas, the best bet is to call the hotline and ask them for the release date, once your inmate has been reviewed by parole. They are very helpful. Sometimes you have to stay on hold for a minute, but once they get on the line, you provide the inmate TDC number and the name, and they will tell you. The number to call is 512-406-5202. Good luck!
I am trying to obtain the address and where abouts of my grand daughter Brittani N. Powers. She wass sent from Dayton to Gatesville, Texas as of March 1st,2012 and I have not seen her or heard from her in weeks. Who do I call , see , or write for this information? She has a 4 yr. old son who needs her badly! Thanks to those who inform me of the direction I should take.
You should be able to locate her using the TDC Inmate Locator on this page. Enter her name and TDC number if you know it.
I understand alot of privalges and rights are taking away in jail , but why take away natural design for male and female there will be failures in society but some of them are now bad like murders rapicts child molesters. I have a friend stuck with 28 years and he hustled what was brought over the border his wife drives 400 miles every month they should have protected sex the prison crime rate would drop drastic and some people have money on books. It’s horrible other country’s let men be with a women (nature) Texas allows homosexual activity such as selling wigs bras and even lip stick and soon aids will destroy Medicaid in prison I’m disgusted at the gay engery they allow.
i been trying to find out the release date of my son roger scott jr. 1078115 he has been in since 2001, everytime he go for parole he turn down i would like to know why? since the time he when in i was not told anything even his lawyer never return my call, i live new orleans, la , not able to see him or find out as his parent I was shut out from him. You don’t know him like me he was rail roaded given the max 15yrs never been in trouble at all his life now but 15yrs because of somebody said no evidence at all I want to know why.

I MISS MY UNCLE HE’S INNOCENT AND SERVING LIFE BECAUSE OF A LAWYER WHO WAS ON SUSPENSION AT THE TIME OF HIS TRIAL…. THIS SHOULD BE AN AUTOMATIC RE-TRIAL.
