Texas Prison Inmate Search
Do you need to find someone in Texas prison? If a family member or loved one has been sent to prison, you might be wondering how to find them. Probably you want to write to them and stay in touch while they do their time.
I used to be able to display a form on this page that let folks search for inmates within TDC but the folks at TDCJ have changed the way things work and I cannot make it work now. I hope to have a solution soon. Meanwhile please continue to send your questions to me and I will keep trying to help y’all. Sorry for the hassle.
You can also check these other pages I have with information about Texas prison, Federal prison, and, soon to come, county jails in Texas.
I have a friend that’ was going to be transfer to tdc from dallas county not showing in the county system anymore but also Being trying to look him up on tdc system and his not there either any ideas on what my be going on with him please help????
When an inmate gets his orders to transfer from county lockup to TDC there are several days where he is not going to show up on the TDC site while he is being processed. Typically he will first go for processing, then to someplace like Garza East while they figure out which unit he will go to, then to his unit. This can take several days and it really makes the folks on the outside worry while they don’t know where their loved one is. One thing I have found is that JPay, at http://www.jpay.com, which is a site where you can add funds to your inmates commissary account or send emails to them, usually updates their database even faster than TDC does. So, visit jpay.com and look for him there. But don’t worry, he is going to show up on TDC’s website in a couple days. Take care.
I’ve been following the status of someone who killed my aunt in Harris County, Houston Texas. Last info I have is that a jury found him guilty on 9-25-13. Since then he’s been moved and I’ve been trying to find out the location. When I try the locator in the top left it says, HTTP Status 404, The requested resource () is not available. Is there any way I can find out what his sentence is and what prison he’s located? He is, Dean Jerome Wood SPN: 00279955, Thank you.
Hi Mark, Thanks for your note. I am so sorry to hear about your aunt, that is a terrible thing and I am sure it has taken it’s toll on your family. By the way, I am glad you brought to my attention that the prison inmate locator was out of order. It’s fixed now. I looked up the individual you mentioned and I did find him. He is in the Michael Unit of TDC, that is in Tennessee Colony, TX. HIS TDC number is 01886087. His sentence is 94 years, he’s going to be away for a good long while. His projected release date is 2102, but his first parole eligibility comes up in 2040. I would think it would be denied, considering the charges and sentence, but of course I’m no lawyer. Peace to you and your family.
I Am Looking For David Uceda
Hi Bibiana, I just noticed today that the inmate locator was temporarily broken. I have fixed it. I searched for David Uceda and he does not come up in the TDC records. Other possibilities are that he is incarcerated in a county jail, not TDC, or a Federal penitentiary. Sometimes if someone is sentenced to TDC they first spend time in county, waiting to transfer. If he was recently sentenced this may be the case. Best of luck to you.
I would like to know when Michael angel Lopez is being released? The Austin city jail site says he’s not in custody anymore but I know he is.
Hi Chris. The inmate locator is now fixed, sorry it was out of order. But, there is one Michael Angel Lopez in the TDC system, his birthdate is listed as 9/24/86. Is this the person you are looking for? He is currently in Baten Unit. That is an ISF Unit which is where they send someone with drug problems. A lot of times they let the person out on parole, and they mess up and they send them there for 90 days or so to straighten them out, rather than return them to prison. It’s a prison though, just a drug rehab style prison. Anyway, they also sometimes send a person to ISF before releasing them if they feel they are at great risk for drug problems once they are released. Here is the information for Baten, you might be able to contact them and learn a little more. Sometimes these units have visitation. Good luck!

Hi Shawni, sorry for the delay in responding. I have been busy with work and not here on the blog too much lately. I imagine by now you have heard from your fiance. It is very frustrating and scary when you first have a loved one in prison and you don’t hear from them. But, all these things can take a while. I hope all is well now and he is settled in to his unit and doing OK and yourself as well. Take care.
My husband has been approve for parole and his release date is 12-05-2013. He has to go to huntsville to get a ankle monitor but the parole investigator hasnt contacted me to install a box. My question is, is there anythin im suppose to do to get the proccess going or do I just wait??
Hi Kris, I am sure by now you have figured out the monitor. I apologize I didn’t reply sooner, I have not been on the blog for awhile. Let me know if you need any other info, I do know something about having the monitor on and the whole process. I hope your husband is doing well and that everything is working out. Take care and best of luck to you both.
hey i was trying to see if my sons father projected release date the day his getting out or is it sooner because i cant get any further information on him and i just want to be prepared cause my son has never met him before ricky gene isbell cid#1410511
Hello Monica. I apologize for not replying a lot sooner. You may have found this information yourself by now but the TDC Inmate Locator says that Ricky Isbell has a projected release date of Feb 5, 2014. Those projected dates are not 100% accurate but that is his maximum sentence date so in his case it is probably going to be right around then. He is located at the Neal Unit in Amarillo. If you write to him include his TDC number on the correspondence. His TDC number is 01410511.
Best of luck to you and your son.
Hi, I found out they approved my son parole but said he will not get out before September 1, 2014. That’s like giving him another one year offset. Why would they do that usually they are released soon as the address is approved where they are going. Sidney will not be coming back to el paso. Sidney R. Digbie 1221978 please reply. He has been in prison for 14 years. We really miss him
my fiance’ Jamie Tennimon was just transferred from Gregg County Jail to a State Jail Facility. How can I find out where she is? I tried the Inmate Locator Tool and followed the instructions but it says to offender with her name was found. I know for a fact she transferred on 10/29/2013 but don’t know where she is or what her State ID number is. I want to get money on her books ASAP and start planning to save for a trip to visit but need to know here location.,please help.
Hi Steven, I had been away from the blog for a while, so sorry I didn’t reply sooner. I am sure by now you know this, but I looked up your fiance and she is in Plane State Jail. Unfortunately when an inmate is transferred it can take several days for TDC to update their database, and they won’t show up for awhile. It’s pretty messed up, butwwwJPay.com, the online site to send money to inmates, usually has their records updated faster than TDC does.
I would like to know why my brother Henry Henderson #1077112 released date has changed from November 1, 2013 to Dec 3, 2013.
Thanks,
Tammy Miller
Hi Tammy, I was away from the blog for awhile, sorry I didn’t have an answer for you sooner. I hope by nwo your brother is home and doing well. Unfortunately when it comes to TDC, they change dates, rules, and everything else they want without good reasons so we are really at their mercy when it comes to getting out. Peace.
